Mrs. Bonnie Smith Davis, age 74, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for Monday, December 5 at 11:00 AM at Plains Methodist Church with Pastor R.T. Beverly officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, December 4, between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., and at other times at the family's residence, 120 Cow Pen Road in Plains. Born August 27, 1948 in Thomaston, she was a daughter of the late Joe Brown and Lillie Brown Christian who survives her. A 1966 graduate of Americus High School, she was a member of Plains Methodist Church and was a hairdresser for over fifty years at Bonnie and Gene's Hair Salon. She enjoyed camping and going to the races, and she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Gene Davis; her mother, Lillie Brown Christian; one son, Charles W. Smith, III "Tripp" (Tracy); one grandchild, Charles W. Smith, IV "Chase"; two brothers: Scott M. Brown and Greg E. Brown; two nephews: Jeremiah Brown and Cody Brown; and one great-niece and two great-nephews.
