Mrs. Brenda Faye Brown Stanfield, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 26, from the graveside at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Hugh Harbort officiating. Members of M.B. Council Lodge No. 13, Free and Accepted Masons are asked to serve as pallbearers. The staff of Hancock Funeral Home would like to issue a gentle reminder to all attendees that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, six feet social distancing must be maintained at all times, and the use of face masks is required. Born November 29, 1958 in Americus, Brenda was the daughter of Carole Edenfield Brown and the late Donald Neal Brown. A graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University and South Georgia Technical College, she had been employed as a bookkeeper at Perry Brothers Oil Company and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was a member of the Masonic Organizations Order of the Eastern Star and the Order of the Rainbow. She was a very active supporter of M.B. Council Lodge No. 13, Free and Accepted Masons. Survivors include her mother, Carole E. Brown of Plains; husband, James Neal Stanfield of Americus; son, Wesley Stanfield (Marie) of Plains; two grandchildren: Jay Stanfield and Kenzie Stanfield of Plains; and two sisters.
