Carrie Marie Hampton Wise

Mrs. Carrie Marie Hampton Wise, age 93, passed away on Sunday evening, June 21, 2020 at Pruitt Health - Spring Valley in Elberton, GA. Funeral services are planned for 4:00 PM on Friday, June 26, 2020 from the graveside at Lebanon Cemetery in Plains. Rev. Jeremy Wise will officiate. The family will receive guests at St. Andrews Lutheran Church immediately following the graveside services. Flowers are welcomed, and for those wishing to do so, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 304 S. Bond Street, Plains, GA 31780. Mrs. Wise, born June 27, 1926 in Nashville, TN, was the last surviving of eight children born to the late Milton H. Hampton and the late Nellie R. Hampton. She was a homemaker and worked for over thirty years as a clerk at Plains Pharmacy. She was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Plains. Mrs. Wise was an avid gardener and showed loving pride in her roses. in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford Wise; and by a grandson, Justin Wise. Survivors include her children: Jerry Wise (Carolyn) of Hartwell, GA, Brenda Robertson (Harold) of Plains, Cheryle McCrary (Bobby) of Plains, and Helen Ricketts (Bill) of Plains; grandchildren: Stacie Howard (Steve), David Tyler (Nancy), Jennie Pennington (Terry), Hope Jones (Chris), Lindsey Lopez (Fugio), Shana Griffin (Jayson), Jeremy Wise, Hannah Ricketts, Sadie Mayo (Corey), and Lily Wills (Mitch); great-grandchildren: Madeline Marsh, Andrew Marsh, Brittany Pennington, Travis Pennington, Henry Wise, Lucy Wise, Wren Wise, Cadence Tyler, Delaney Tyler, Bailey James, Emma Griffin, Eli Griffin, Dylan Lopez, and Alexis Lopez; and several nieces and nephews.
