Cathy Smith Allen

Mrs. Cathy Smith Allen, age 72, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Monroe County Hospital in Forsyth. 

Funeral services are planned for 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 29, from the graveside at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Daryl Brown officiating. The following gentlemen are asked to serve as pallbearers: Tyler Simmons, Dexter Lashley, A.J. Lashley, Mercer Johnson, Andrew Hall, and Eric Vasil. 

Born March 5, 1952 in Americus, she was a daughter of the late John Milton Smith and the late Dorothy Abberlene Butler Smith. Mrs. Allen was of the Christian faith. Affectionately known as “The Queen”, she loved shopping, cooking, time with close friends at the pool, and trips to the beach. She lovingly cared for her home and her family, and together with her late husband operated C&J Pallet Company.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jackson Allen and by her son, Phillip Olsen.

 Survivors include her children: Brooke Allen, Mike Johnson (Heather), Linda Barwick (Will), and Susan Lashley (Steve); grandchildren: Madison Blaine, Charlie Galligan, Maddi Johnson, Wes Johnson, Mercer Johnson, Katie Meeks, Kelley Nix (Ken), Tyler Simmons (Niki), Dexter Lashley (Madison), and A.J. Lashley; great-grandchildren: Boone Lashley, Jax Simmons, Lively Ruth Simmons, HaLeigh Bonner, Hunter Bonner, Helen Bonner, Hannah Bonner, and Kaisen Nix; brother, John Milton Smith, Jr.; and nephew, Nikki Smith. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Wetherald Behavioral Consulting, 103 Georgia Highway 27, Americus, GA 31709.
