Mr. Charlie Clayton Carpenter, Jr., age 84, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 10, from the graveside at Leslie City Cemetery. The following gentlemen are asked to serve as pallbearers: Adam Carpenter, David Gay, Alan Allmon, Austin Allmon, Russell Allmon, and Tim Holzkauper. The family will receive friends on Wednesday between the hours of 12:00 noon and 1:30 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. Born March 26, 1936 in Newcastle, Oklahoma, he was a son of the late Charlie Clayton Carpenter, Sr. and the late Blanche Allen Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter was a heavy equipment operator, having been employed by MC Anderson Construction and RB Baker Construction. He was of the Christian faith. Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Lane Allmon Carpenter; three sons: Charlie Clayton Carpenter, III, Arthur (Erik) Carpenter, and Joshua Carpenter Costner; grandchildren: Adam Clayton Carpenter, Lauren Haley Hudson, Grayson Erik Carpenter, and Corbin Allen Carpenter; one great-granddaughter: Elliott Kay Carpenter; 5 nieces and 4 nephews.
