Charlie Edd "Buck" Scott

Mr. Charlie Edd "Buck" Scott, age 82, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Monday, January 20, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, with Rev. Bud Womack and Rev. Brooks Partain officating.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home on Monday between the hours of 1:00 and 2:00 PM. The following gentlemen are asked to serve as pallbearers: James Eason, Bobby Duke, Willard Brewer, M.W. Jordan, Troy McAllister, and Mark Royal. Born January 5, 1938, he was a son of the late James Leon Scott and the late Wynelle Crook Scott.  A veteran of the United States Air Force, Mr. Scott was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and was a master carpenter, a faithful and dedicated employee of Warren Scott Contracting for over 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Debra Spence Scott of Americus; children: Jimmy Scott of Americus, and Kathy Scott Royal (Mark) of Ellaville; step-children: Mark Shellhouse (Shonna) of Leslie, and Amy Shellhouse of Americus; grandchildren: Tracy Royal, Amber Shellhouse, Lily Shellhouse, and Carter Shellhouse; great-granddaughter, Makayla Glover; two sisters: Laura Hall and Shirley Bailey; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Virginia Willis Scott, and by one brother and two sisters.
