Mr. David Alfred Evans, age 81, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services are planned for 12:00 noon on Monday, October 12, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Rev. Marty Dillon officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday beginning at 10:00 AM at Hancock Funeral Home. Born December 8, 1938 in Utica, NY, he was a son of the late Alfred Evans and the late Mary Carpenter Evans. Mr. Evans was of the Episcopal faith, and was retired as a data industry sales manager for DTN. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Margie McWhorter Evans; his son, Robert Burns (Lois); two step-sons, Clark Lamb (Sharon) and Charles Lamb (Jennifer); grandchildren: Corinne Burns, Melinda Dixon (John), Joe Lamb (Whitney), Ashley Johnson (Scott), Russell Lamb, Clay Lamb, and Jackson Buchanan; great-grandchildren: Christian (McKenna), Cooper, Caden, Cathryn, Carli, Hunter, and Zoey; one great-great grandchild, Cassidy; and several nieces and nephews.
