Delbert Watkins

Mr. Delbert "Del" Watkins, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services with military honors are planned for 2:00 PM on Monday, March 8, from the committal pavilion at Andersonville National Historic Site, with President Dave Tucker and Elder Willie Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery. Mr. Watkins was born December 10, 1952 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was retired from small engine repair work at John Deere, and was talented to be able to fix absolutely anything. Del had a very unique sense of humor, always spoke to everyone he saw, and was always willing to help others. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having achieved the rank of SP4. Survivors include his wife, Tammy V. Poole-Watkins of Americus; and many family, friends, and loved ones.
