Mrs. Dixie Ruth Hale, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. The family will gather for a celebration of life and visitation of friends on Saturday, April 24, between the hours of 1:00 and 2:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. The family requests that attendees dress casually and wear something red if possible. Born March 13, 1945, she was a daughter of the late James Luther Coogle and the late Mamie Ruth Medley Coogle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Joe Coogle and Jim Coogle. Survivors include her husband, Robert B. Hale; children: Eric McElroy, Scarlette Harper (and spouse Jerry Harper) and Colleen Johnston (and spouse Sonny Johnston); sister: Charlotte Coogle; grandchildren: Trey Harper, Sarah Johnston, Ryder Johnston, and Courtney Harper (and fiancé Kevin Brown); and one great-grandchild, Gracelyn Brown.
