Ann Hamilton Mims, age 97, passed away on November 7, 2017, in Miami, with her loving family by her side. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at First United Methodist Church in Americus, Georgia, at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Born April 4, 1920, in Augusta, she was the daughter of the late Mittie Lou Carter Hamilton and LeRoy Hamilton. She spent her childhood years in Americus, moving to North Carolina in her mid-teens. She moved to Miami in 1938, where she met her late husband, Robert N. Mims. Ann is survived by her daughters: Martha Stobs and Robin Cross (Randy); grandchildren: Gerry Neidig (Jymi), Susan Wesley, Carrie Arbuckle (Chris), James Stobs (Carrie), and Chris Stobs (Melissa); nine great-grandchildren: Jakob, Josh and Jonah Neidig, Meghan and Owen Wesley, Adam, Annie and Alyssa Arbuckle, Leila Stobs, and Tristan and Dawson Stevenson; sister, Louise Tatum of Valdosta; and many nieces and nephews.
