Born May 2, 1944 in Leslie, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Wood Hart and the late Carrie Belle Laramore Hart. Of the Baptist faith, Mrs. Elizabeth loved serving others. She was known for her chicken pot pies, making and sharing them with others. She had been a Brownie and Girl Scout leader when her daughters were younger, and also worked with Meals on Wheels. Next to her devotion to her family, her greatest love was for the many children she cared for at her home daycare for over 40 years, where she was affectionately known as “Mama Liz”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd Acuff Shaddix; son Stacey Waylan Shaddix; grandson Joshua Cole Medrano; brother, Charles Hart; and her fur babies, Little and Baxter.
She is survived by her loving family: daughters Marisa Shaddix Thomas (Alvin) and Cynthia Medrano Gibbs (Brian); grandchildren: Courtney Medrano, Jessica Thomas, Brian Thomas, Dayton Medrano, and Mariah Thomas Massey (Hunter); great-grandchildren: Easton Blake Phillips, Krystan Elizabeth Massey, Waverly Ryann Phillips, Carmen Elaine Massey, and Harmony Ann Taylor Massey; aunt Evelyn Peek; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
