Mrs. Elizabeth Turner Turpin passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, May 21, with a visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, and the funeral following at 2:00 PM. Dr. Jerry Roe will officiate. Entombment will be private. Members of the Epworth Sunday School Class are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends between the hours of 1:00 & 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the church. A native of Americus, she was born on February 26, 1925, a daughter of the late H.C. and Tonie Turner. She was retired from the Bank of Commerce. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Epworth Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William "Bill" Turpin; and by her brothers, H.C. Turner, Jr. and Lee Jack Turner. Survivors include her sisters, Lela B. Wilson and Faye Knight, both of Americus; nieces, Kim Mountjoy and Nally Mountjoy, Kerri Untch and Kristen Perry Gordon; nephew Ty Turner and nieces Hallie Turner and Anna Lane Turner; niece Jill Williams and her children Josh, Kate & Madison Williams; sister-in-law Stella Bridges (Louis); and her devoted caregivers: Teresa Durham, Brenda Roberts, Gwen Bryant, and Patricia Green.
