Mr. Marvin Franklin's funeral, which had been postponed due to the Covid pandemic, has been scheduled for 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Central Baptist Church. The family will be available to greet friends both before and after the funeral services. Mr. George Marvin Franklin, Sr., age 95, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Summerhill Senior Living Community in Perry. Services are planned for 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 6, at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Bryan Myers officiating. A private burial was held in January. The family will be available to greet friends both before and after the funeral services. Born February 22, 1926 in Hawkinsville, he was a son of the late John Russell Franklin and the late Lillian Oakley Franklin. Mr. Franklin was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II, and was retired from insurance sales with American General. Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife of 76 years, Maggie Collier Franklin. He passed away on January 14, which would have been their 77th wedding anniversary. Survivors include his son, George Marvin Franklin, Jr. (Mary Kay); daughter, Sheila Elaine Durham (Steve); grandchildren: Dee Ann Owens (Chris), Lisa Duke (Jason), Steven Durham (Ilia), Beth Bernard (Adam), and Kyle Franklin (Katie); great-grandchildren: Austin Duke, Hunter Duke, Cole Duke, Maggie Duke, Rhett Durham, Slate Bernard, Statton Bernard, Skyleigh Bernard, Kendall Franklin, Ethan Franklin, and Sadie Franklin; and one great-great-grandson, Lucas Duke.
