Harold Tyler "Botto" Melvin

Mr. Harold Tyler "Botto" Melvin, age 85, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 18, 2022 at Phoebe North Campus in Albany. Born June 21, 1936 in Sumter County, he was a son of the late David E. Melvin and the late Agnes I. Webb Melvin Dennard. Baptist by faith, he was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and worked for over 30 years in produce sales in Smithville and then in Leslie. Before that, he worked for 30 years in car sales. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Toby Melvin; and by his sister, Carolyn Phillips. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne G. "Von" Melvin; one daughter, Terri English (Joe); three sons: Tyler Melvin (Paula), Lane Wiggins (Lisa), and Hal Wiggins (Jackie); one brother, Jim Melvin (Kay); 13 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, burial services will be private. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
