Jack Talley Chappell

Mr. Jack T. Chappell, 85, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.

 Born on February 10, 1939 in Bradenton, Florida, he was the son of the late William and Ruth Chappell. Mr. Chappell spent many years working as a farmer. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his son, Jay Chappell and his daughter-in-law Jessica; his grandchildren Pierce and Talley Chappell; his sister-in-law, Betty Jane Chappell; several nieces and nephews, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. 

Along with his parents, Mr. Chappell is preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Delores Chappell; his two brothers, Walter Bob Chappell and Carl Chappell; and his sister, Sharon Chappell Kleckley. 

The family will receive friends for a Visitation on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee Street. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 11:00AM at Hebron Baptist Church, with Rev. Jim Eubanks officiating. The burial will follow the service in the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Those serving as pallbearers for the service will include: Scott Chappell, Jeff Kleckley, Brad Kleckley, Greg Snider, John Clark, Mark Israel, Jim Hackney, and Roy Giles. Honorary Pallbearers will include: Burton Thomas and George Roquemore.
