James Danny Arthur

James Danny Arthur passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services are planned for 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 12, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Rev. Steven Golden and Rev. Marty Dillon officiating. A private interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Born November 13, 1948 in Sumter County, he was a son of the late James Arthur and the late Eura B. Deese Arthur. Danny was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a retired conductor for CSX Railroad and served as a member of the National Guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Alan Arthur; by a brother, Rickie Lovett; and by a sister, Kathy Peaster. Survivors include his wife, Billie Jo Arthur; brothers and sisters: David Arthur, Ronnie Arthur, Brenda Arthur, and Earl Burke (Wendy); and several nieces and nephews.
