James Franklin "Frankie" Scott, Sr.

Mr. James Franklin "Frankie" Scott, Sr., age 71, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his home in Americus. Services are planned for 12:00 PM (noon) on Saturday, January 8, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Pastor James Beckett officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday at Hancock Funeral Home. Born February 20, 1950 in Boaz, Alabama, he was a son of the late Gene Scott and the late Louise Avery Scott. Mr. Scott worked as an agricultural driver and mechanic, having been employed by Leatherbrook Farms. He was a Baptist by faith, and enjoyed cutting grass and feeding and watching the deer from the porch of his home. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Stephens Scott; children: James Scott, Jr., Jeffrey Scott, Melissa Hernandez (Roberto), Virginia Summerlin, and Jamie Underwood (Darin Dunford); two brothers: Edward Scott (Yvonne) and Tommy Scott; one sister, Patsy Johnson (Tommy); eleven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his furry baby BooBoo.
