Mrs. Irma Jewell Oliver Woodard, age 80, daughter of the late William Henry Oliver and Lucy DeVane Oliver, joined her heavenly family on March 19, 2020. Jewell was born in Ellaville, Georgia on October 11, 1939 and was the youngest of six girls. She graduated from Americus High School And South Georgia Technical College. Mrs. Woodard was a bookkeeper, and spent her entire working career with, and retired from, Independent Life and Accident Insurance Company. She could often be seen walking to and from her office on Forsyth Street from her home on Church Street. She was a member of the Americus chapter of the Order of The Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Mary, Helen, Henrietta, Grace and Annette. She and her late husband, Bill Woodard, loved dancing and fishing. Although she never had any children, she was a mother to so many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. A family memorial service will be planned for a later date.
