JoAnn LeSueur Chappell, age 87, passed way on Monday, February 28, 2022 at her home in Americus. Born November 4, 1934 in Americus, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lawton LeSueur, Sr. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Lawton Jr., Larry, and Carey, as well as her husband, Frank Chappell, Jr. JoAnn graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She earned her Master of Education in Early Childhood from Georgia Southwestern College. JoAnn was an elementary school teacher for Sumter County Schools. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed attending garden club and bridge club. Survivors inlcude her children: McCall Calhoun, Jr., Anne Davis, Mary Calhoun, and Virginia LaBella and her husband Robert LaBella; grandchildren: Harper Calhoun, Ginny Calhoun, Ian Morton, Finn Morton, and Cloie Davis; sister-in-law Claudia LeSueur; and several nieces and nephews.
