Mr. John Robert "Bobby" Norman, II, age 70, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at his home on Highway 30 West. Funeral services are planned for 12:30 on Wednesday, July 22, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, with Dr. Bryan Myers officiating. A private family committal service and burial will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Hancock Funeral Home. The staff of Hancock Funeral Home would like to issue a gentle reminder to all attendees that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reasonable social distancing must be maintained at all times, and the use of face masks is highly recommended. Born May 2, 1950 in Americus, he was a son of the late John Robert Norman and the late Louise DeVane Kidd. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Korea, and later worked in the salvage business. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Bailey Norman; two sons: John R. "Bobby" Norman, III (Kelli) and Jammie Norman (Elizabeth); three daughters: Tanya Harris (John), Jenny Gosdin (Chuck) and Heather Laney (Chris); grandchildren: Robert, Shayna, Brandon, Austin, Cody, Cory, Tyler, CJ, Cailin, Dusty, Austin, Hayden, Noah and McKinsley; great-grandchildren: Zelda, Malea, Mayleigh, Jasper, Malachi, Leilani, and Lilly; one sister, Judy Lloyd; niece and nephews: Wanda Thomas, Steve Norman, Doug Lloyd, Scott Lloyd and Brad Lloyd; and his special furry child Rocky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Brownlow.
