Jose R. Garcia, Sr.

Mr. Jose R. Garcia, Sr., age 67, died on July 11, 2023. A visitation will be conducted from 5 until 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, with funeral services to begin at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home on South Lee Street. Breanna and David Chapa will officiate. Born January 28, 1956, in Miami, FL, Mr. Garcia was a son of Jose Maria Garcia, Sr. and Maria DeJesus Garcia. He was a retired fields farm worker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Friends may visit the family at 140 Lexington Circle. Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by two brothers, Raul Garcia and Martin Garcia. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Chapa Garcia; three sons and their wives, Riccardo and Ruby Garcia, Joel and Victoria Garcia, and Jose R. Garcia, Jr. and wife, Roxie; a daughter and son-in-law, Josephine and Johnny Garcia Lopez; three brothers, Jose Maria Garcia, Jr., Daniel Garcia, and Riccardo Garcia; four sisters, Juana Garcia, Irma Sanchez, Alexandra Retana, and Adela Chapa; seven grandchildren: Riccardo Garcia, Jr., Ashley D. Garcia, Paris Nicole Garcia, Dominick Alexander Garcia, Dallas Leah Garcia, Landon Alexander Garcia, and Angelina Martinez; and several nieces and nephews.
