Josephine "Jo" Medlock

Mrs. Josephine "Jo" Medlock, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at her home in Plains. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 26, at Concord United Methodist Church, with Rev. Lauri Hartley and Rev. Jason Owens officiating. The following gentlemen are asked to serve as pallbearers: Schuyler English, Michael Moncus, Gavyn Stephens, Will Moncus, Gage Maxwell, Joey Jenkins, and Bryan Alford. Burial will be private in Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, March 25, between the hours of 6:00 & 8:00 PM at the home of Mary Moncus, 212 South Bond Street (Rosalyn Carter Trail). Born August 24, 1926 in Americus, she was a daughter of the late Leonard Larkin Dupree and the late Alice Corine Sellars Dupree. She was a member of Plains United Methodist Church where she was very involved in church activities as long as her health allowed. Mrs. Medlock was retired as a bookkeeper for the Cabot Corporation. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Reese Medlock; two brothers: Howard Dupree and Eugene Dupree; grandson Jeremy Alford; and son-in-law Keith Moncus. Survivors include her daughters: Rena Alford (Greg) and Mary Moncus; grandchildren: Courtney Maxwell, Bryan Alford, Michael Moncus, Lindsay Jenkins (Joey), and Will Moncus; great-grandchildren: Alyssa Maxwell, Schuyler English (Sabrina), Gavyn Stephens, Gage Maxwell, Dylan Joiner, and Sophie Jenkins; great-great-granddaughter, Natalie Maxwell; and nephew, Ronnie Dupree.
