Ladelle Smith left this troubled world and entered the glories of Heaven on June 21, 2022. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 AM on Friday, June 24, at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Bryan Myers and Rev. Hugh DeLoach officiating. A private family-only burial will follow. Deacons of Central Baptist Church are asked to serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday at Central Baptist Church beginning at 10:00 AM, and at other times at their family home. Ladelle was a member of Central Baptist Church where, as long as her health allowed, she was very active in church activities including the Children's Choir and as Awana Gametime leader. She was proud to have experienced the Walk to Emmaus. She was athletic, lead Bible studies, enjoyed singing, loved reading about Jesus, and worked with the Hands of Hope Pregnancy and Resource Center. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren who she loved very much, and enjoyed attending activities in which they participated. She is survived by her husband of over 46-years, Jim Smith; two children and seven grandchildren: Justin and Margaret Smith, Brent Smith, True Smith, Kelli and Brandon Harpe, Mackenzee Harpe, Brighton Harpe, Kayden Harpe, Kenna Harpe, and Ryker Harpe. She is survived by all six siblings: Paula and Earl Martin, Ward and Shann Preston, Jan and Billy Key, Decca and Dan Elswick, Diane Preston, and Dave and Cindy Preston. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lavinia Harbuck Preston and Mike Preston. In death, Ladelle has joined our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and saved family members that have preceded her in death in eternal peace with no suffering and tears. We give Praise to God for His blessed assurance and pray each of you has a personal relationship with Him.
