Lynn Carson Bateman

Mrs. Lynn Carson Bateman, age 96, passed away on Thursday evening, April 14, 2022 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 20, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. with Rev. Wendy Peacock officiating. A private burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at Hancock Funeral Home, between the hours of 2:00 & 3:00 PM. Born November 3, 1925 in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late John Frank Finch and Oriska Llewellynn Morgan Finch. Mrs. Bateman worked for 31 years as a logistician at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Epworth Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Finch. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and James B. Folmar of Albany; and grandchildren: Cameron Bruce Folmar and Jason Kenneth Folmar.
