Margaret Virginia Harp Goins, age 75, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for 1:00 PM on Friday, December 23, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Pastor Sims Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Benevolence United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday between the hours of 11:00 and 1:00 at Hancock Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Virginia McClendon, 115 Cartwright Road Ext. Born March 2, 1947 in Cordele, she was a daughter of the late Henry Alexander Harp and Edith Hazel Harp. She was retired from the construction industry and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, William Lee Goins; one son, Thomas Lamar Harden, Jr.; two daughters: Tammy Harden and Virginia McClendon; grandchildren: Robert Ogletree, Jr., Ashley Ogletree, Justin Ogletree, Amanda McClendon, Austin McClendon, and Ashley Hudson; great-grandchildren: Trace Ogletree, Shelby Ogletree, Luke Ogletree, Dalton Ogletree, Brooklyn Ogletree, Brandon Donaldson, Braxton Ogletree, Nolan Ogletree, Lincoln Cosby, and Liam Wilson; one brother, Thomas Harp; one sister, Marcel Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.
