Mrs. Marjorie Hambric Easterlin, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services are planned for 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 26, at First United Methodist Church. Private interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday between the hours of 12:00 & 12:45 PM at First United Methodist Church preceding the funeral service. A native of Americus, Mrs. Easterlin was born on April 24, 1928, daughter of the late Marvin Hambric and the late Frances Abbott Hambric. Mrs. Easterlin was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church and the Epworth Sunday School Class, and the church's quilting club. She was proud to have experienced the Walk to Emmaus, and enjoyed 15 years of a Bible Study by Kay Arthur as led by Jane Sullivan. She had been a member of the Junior Service League, the New Era Home Demonstration Club, The Americus Garden Club, the Sumter Square Dancers, and the Sumter County Cloggers. Mrs. Easterlin avidly studied geneology and hummingbirds, and after observing Halley's Comet in 1986, she became extremely interested in studying the stars. She was a home maker and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Humber Easterlin; and by a grandson, Robert Scott Easterlin. Survivors include her daughters: Debra Easterlin Williams (James B. Williams) of Andersonville, and Fran Easterlin Puryear (Rev. Charles Rupert Puryear, III) of Thomasville; grandchildren: Angie Phillips (Jonathan), Deanna Smith (Josh), Natalie English (Brandon), and Brooke Mathis (Brandon); and several great-grandchildren.
