Mrs. Mary Ann Crowley, age 75, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 23rd at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a committal service to follow at 2:00 PM at Andersonville National Cemetery. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, attendance at the Mass will be limited to 45, and attendance at the committal service will be limited to 25. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 332 S. Lee Street, Americus. GA 31709. Mary Ann was born in Corpus Christi, TX on December 11th, 1944. She was the first of twelve children born to James Podojil and the late Francis Maimone. She was raised in Ravenna, Ohio and lived in Cleveland before relocating to Atlanta with her family in the early 1980’s. After beginning her career at the Trust departments at various Ohio banks, Mary Ann was a successful Human Resources leader with the Coca Cola company, among others. While in Atlanta, she lived in the Buckhead neighborhood and got a chance to volunteer for the 1996 Olympic Games. Mary Ann relocated to Americus in 2002 to work for Habitat for Humanity and fell in love with the community. She was active in her church and President of the St Mary’s Parrish Council. Mary Ann was a former Americus Rotarian and served as president. She loved all holiday celebrations, especially Halloween on Lee Street. Mary Ann was an avid gardener and was even planting bulbs the day before she passed. She took joy in cooking, breaking bread with friends, family, and traveling the world. Mary Ann is proceeded in death by her mother Frances and two brothers. She is survived by her father Jim, nine siblings, husband of twenty-five years Chet, her daughter Allyson Hajdu, sons Timothy, William, Chet and daughter in law Kelly Crowley, grandchildren Thomas, Taryn and Tatum Crowley, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her service dog Zeus.
