Mrs. Mary Anne Harrison Wingard, age 87, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Perfect Care. A private family committal service was held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Friday, April 24, with Rev. Steven Golden and Rev. Chet Ragsdale officiating. Born September 13, 1932 in Ellaville, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Talbot Harrison and the late Selma Louise Snider Harrison. Mrs. Wingard was a bank teller, having worked many years at Citizens Bank of Americus and retiring from Sumter Bank & Trust. She was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Youth Director, Young at Heart Director, plus many other positions. She loved cooking and sharing her special dishes prepared with love from her kitchen with many. She loved visiting with family and friends, and was a Hospice volunteer. She was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Clarke Wingard, Sr.; by a sister-in-law, Dorothy Harrison; and by a grandson-in-law, Joel Roberts. Survivors include four sons: Walt Wingard, Jr. (Jo), Danny Wingard (Marilyn), Jeff Wingard (Elisha), and David Wingard (Amanda); seven granddaughters: Leslie Blankenship (Marc), Leigh Hall (Jason), Rebecca Roberts, Laura Williams (Oscar), KayLynne Yarborough, Hope Cling, and Morgan Howard (Seth); seven great-grandchildren: Alana, Sophia, Luke, Savannah, Cade, Olivia, and Mattie; one brother, Talbot Harrison (Betty); and several nieces and nephews.
