Mary Alice Vinson

Mary Alice Vinson, 86, of Americus, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Phoebe Sumter.

Born on October 5, 1938 in Americus, Georgia to the late Leonard and Mary Abell. She was a member of Byne Baptist Church. She previously worked for the MCLB.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, at 1:00PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Andy Cashwell officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 South Lee Street, an hour prior to the service.

Survivors include: Son, Phillip Shane Vinson of Leesburg, GA; step daughters, Darlene Mathews, Shirley Justice, Faye Sherell, and the late Louise Martin; granddaughters, Summer Vinson, Ava Vinson, Saylor Vinson; two brothers, Leonard Abell (Hilda) of Americus, GA, and John Robert Abell (Francis) of Camilla, GA; two sisters, Laura Elizabeth Hunley of Americus, GA and the late Sue Cashwell (Milton); also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Phillip David Vinson.
