Mrs. Nancy Annette Shaw Wainwright, age 75, passed away on Thursday, December 28th, at her home in Americus. Born July 1, 1948 in Griffin, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late James and Ella Faye Shaw. Mrs. Wainwright was a long-time member of Overflow Church in Ellaville, Georgia. She loved flowers and enjoyed spending her time gardening. A visitation will be held at Hancock Funeral Home Chapel, 427 S. Lee St, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held in the Hancock Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Following the service, A funeral procession will leave for the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Wainwright is survived by her loving husband, Richard Oates; her three sons Alfred Larry Ball, Michael David Ball and William Lee Story; her two daughters Lisa Ann Cromer (Bobby Harper) and Andrea Nutt; her step-son, Jason Oates (Vickie); her daughter-in-law Dana Tumlin; grandchildren Andrew Ball, Livi Jones, Hero Driver, Kevin Cromer and Melissa Griffin, Bridget Ball, Allisha Graham, Mckennize Jones, Mariah Wilson, and Tony Wilson; Her great-grandchildren Jasper Cromer, Tony Wilson, Jr., Caleb Bozeman, Logan Bozeman, Allison Bozeman, Johnathan Albritton, Greyson Xavier-Shaw Ball, Joseph Wilson, and Kinsley Wilson; her great-great-grandchildren Joy Brown, Nick Brown, Raven Brown, and Kenneth Graham; as well as her close friend Linda Gaston. Along with her parents, Mrs. Wainwright is preceded in death by her brother Randall Shaw; her sister Janice Camp; her daughter Mary Elaine Ball; and her son Roger Dale Ball.
