Mr. Raymond Joseph "Ray" Recker, age 67, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A memorial service and visitation will be held on Monday evening, July 26, between the hours of 6:00 & 7:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Bro. Mike McGlaun officiating. Interment will be private. Born September 27, 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was a son of the late Joseph Earl Recker, Sr. and the late Patricia Ann Pyle Recker. Ray was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked as a sound engineer in the music industry, and in computer information technology. He was of the Baptist faith. Having studied electronics at South Georgia Technical College and applied sciences at Georgia Southwestern College, he was owner-operator at Recker's Custom Guitars and R&R Sound Company, and had worked at Apollo Health Street. Survivors include his son, Ethan Recker of Sumter County; two brothers: David C. Recker (Joyce) of Abington, Maryland and Joseph E.
