Mr. Reese Michael Taylor Vinup, age 18, passed away very unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, March 23, 2021 in Columbus, the result of a motorcycle accident. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 6, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 5, at Hancock Funeral Home between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM. Born April 11, 2002 in Atlanta, he was a son of Teri Michele Vinup Holley and James Holley. Reese was a 2020 graduate of Thomasville High School. He was of the Christian faith. Reese was employed at Chipotle on Whittlesey Boulevard in Columbus. He enjoyed gaming, Anime, art, drawing, comics, and all kinds of music. He was an advocate and proud member of the LGBTR community, and had a very outgoing friendly personality, always willing to give advice and assistance to anyone. Reese made a big impact on those around him everywhere he went. To know him was to love him. He was very interested in other cultures, particularly Japanese and Korean, and was learning to speak these languages. Reese was of the Christian faith, and has always been lovingly called "Reesee Cup" by his mother. Survivors include his parents: Teri Michele Vinup Holley and James Holley of Andersonville; siblings: Jordan Vinup (Ashauna) of Warner Robins, Timothy Whitaker of Orlando, FL, Brandon Tolliver (Hailey) of Warner Robins, Kayla Hooks of Florida, and Cody Hooks of Alabama; his significant other, Huýnh Quang Vinh of Columbus; his aunties: Rose Garza (R.K.) of Lizella, GA, Tishie Williams (Keith) of Kathleen, GA, and Elaine Hooks of Grayson, GA; close family friends Naomi French (Daron) of Macon; many close friends and co-workers; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
