Mr. Richard Oscar Wisham, age 75, passed away on Sunday evening, December 9, 2018, at his home in Americus. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 12, from the graveside at Liberty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with Elder Win Kuck and Elder Larry White officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, December 11, between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 PM at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. A native of Americus, he was born November 23, 1943, son of the late Oscar Wisham and the late Margaret Lucille Kelley Wisham. He was retired after 32 years from Georgia Power where he worked as a lineman. Mr. Wisham loved to travel and had traveled throughout the Caribbean. He was a scuba instructor for 35 years and had owned an aquatic dive shop. He was a member of the SWGFC Health Club, and attended Liberty Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Janice Wiggins Wisham; one daughter, Angie Wisham Lease (Ed) of Nashville, TN; one son, Jeff Wisham of Savannah; one granddaughter, Abby Wisham of Savannah; one sister, Nancy Wisham Fowler of Rebecca, GA; his fur-baby Herbie; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
