Sir Robert Hardy, 56, died on Monday, April 2nd, as a result of an accidental drowning. The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday evening, April 6, from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Hancock Funeral Home and at other times at 109 Linnie Street. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, at Hancock Funeral Home Chapel, 427 South Lee Street, Bishop Melvin McCluster officiating. Music will be provided by Leonard Tyson and Brenda Alford. Born July 27, 1961, he was a son of the late Judy Hardy and the late Thelma Fredrick Hardy. He was a law-abiding citizen and was self employed, doing landscaping and yard maintenance. Survivors include his wife, Tana Denise Winstead, sons Avery Hardy and Eric Hardy, Sr., both of Americus; step-sons, Ray Hardy and Jarvis Hardy, both of Americus; a brother-in-law, Obie Lyles; brothers Earnest Fredrick of West Palm, FL, Marion Hardy and his wife Beverly of Lake Park, FL, Charles Hardy of Americus, and LeRoy Hardy of Chattahoochee, FL; sisters Peggy Jackson of Americus and Carolyn Mosely and husband Michael of Lake Park, FL; grandchildren, Tiffani Goodman, Avriana Hardy, Kiya Fulton, Keaundre Hardy, Heavenly Hardy, Eric Hardy, Jr., Kaylynn Hardy, Joshua Goodman, Eriunah Hardy, Cyniah Hardy, and Makenzie Hardy. A host of nieces and nephews and also survive. He was preceded in death by Elouise Lyles, James Bell, Judy Hardy, and beloved uncle, Johnny Lee Hardy.
