Mr. Russell “Rusty” Barfield, age 64, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at his home in Plains. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Monday, January 25, from the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Buck Kinney officiating. The Family will receive friends on Monday beginning at 12:00 noon at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Born June 4, 1956 in Macon County, he was a son of the late Earl Barfield and The late Billie Peaster Halliwell. Rusty was a member of Plains Baptist Church, and was employed as a truck driver for Wolf Creek Sod. Survivors include his daughter, Amber Hooks (Bailey); grandchildren: Kaylee Hooks and Connor Hooks; brothers and sisters: Jerry Barfield, Tommy Barfield, Jimmy Barfield, Judy Walker, Debbie Hobgood, and Sheila Barfield; and long-time friend Candy Nelson.
