Mrs. Ruth Cook Stephens, age 99, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at her home in Coolidge, GA. Funeral services are planned for 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 15, at Rehoboth Baptist Church, with Rev. James Beckett officiating. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:30 PM on Sunday at Rehoboth Baptist Church. Born May 21, 1924 in Clark County, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late Leslie Donald Cook and the late Ethel Hazel Parriott Cook. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a 60-year member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, and prior to that was a member for 10 years at Fredonia Baptist Church in Thomasville. Mrs. Stephens, a daredevil at heart, enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, and Scrabble. She taught Sunday School into her 90's, and won the Coolidge Library Reading Contest at age 99. She dearly loved her family and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Stephens, Sr. Survivors include her children: William Thomas Stephens (Faye) and Stephanie Stephens Siceloff (Bill); grandchildren: Sonya N. Stephens, Leah S. Cersine (Steven), Chandler B. Fletcher (Jake), W. Chase Bryant, and Cheney N. Hill (Ryan); step-grandsons: Kyle Siceloff (Katie) and Bryan Siceloff (Mandi); four step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Cook Henchen.
