Mrs. Sara Alice Duvall Masters, age 93, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at her home in Americus. Private graveside funeral services will be held at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born April 5, 1927 in Taylor County, she was a daughter of the late William Wilson Duvall and the late Lucia Hammock Duvall. Mrs. Masters was of the Methodist faith. She was retired from the textile industry, having worked for 31 years as a seamstress at Gertrude Davenport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ike Masters, Sr.; by a son, Ike Masters, Jr.; three grandchildren: Chad Masters, Cathy Berry, and Bobby Berry, Jr.; and four sisters: Cathryn Ratliff, Frances Black, Mary Dozier, and Bobby Jean Harris. Survivors include her children: Tommy Masters (Janet) of Americus, Peggy Vasbinder (John) of Americus, Saralyn Berry (Bobby) of Americus, and Frances Haswell of Victoria, Texas; one brother, James Robert "Bud" Duvall (Joyce) of Plains; one sister-in-law, Sheila Masters of Americus; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
