Mrs. Sharon Chappell Kleckley, age 78, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Seasons Hospice in Suwanee, GA. Graveside burial services are planned for 1:00 PM on Monday, November 1, at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. Born June 23, 1943 in Americus, she was a daughter of the late William Armstid Chappell and the late Ruth Overstreet Chappell. She attended Auburn University where she received a B.S. in Mathematics and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Later, Sharon attended the University of Louisville where she received a M.S. in Education. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Fred Kleckley, in 1963. Sharon pursued her love of working with students, first as a teacher at Albany High School for two years, and then as a math teacher and administrator at Brookwood High School where she retired after 29 years. Upon retirement, she enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, traveling with friends, and socializing with the Forsyth County Ladies League. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Newton Kleckley; and two brothers: Carl Chappell and Bob Chappell. Survivors include her sons: Frederick Jeff Kleckley and his wife Angie Kleckley of Suwanee, and William Brad Kleckley and his wife Laura Kallao Kleckley of Birmingham, AL. Other survivors include one brother, Jack Chappell and his wife Delores Chappell of Americus, five grandchildren: Abbie Kleckley, Morgan Kleckley, Alex Kleckley, Miller Kleckley, and Emma Kleckley; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
