Stacey Waylan Shaddix, age 44, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 28, from the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery, with Rev. Johnny Lewis officiating. The following gentlemen are asked to serve as pallbearers: Brian Thomas, Tyler Phillips, Alvin Thomas, and Brian Gibbs. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday evening, December 27, between the hours of 6:00 & 8:00 PM, at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., and at other times at the family residence, 606 Wildwood Circle. Affectionately known as "Hey Boy" by his family, Stacey was born July 3, 1975, son of the late Floyd Acuff Shaddix and Elizabeth Hart Shaddix. He was a native and life-long resident of Americus, and was of the Christian faith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charlie & Carrie Belle Hart and Frank & Margaret Shaddix; and by a nephew, Joshua Cole Medrano. Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Shaddix of Americus; two sisters: Marisa Shaddix Thomas (Alvin) of Ellaville, and Cynthia Shaddix Gibbs (Brian) of Decatur; nieces & nephews: Courtney Medrano of Decatur, Jessica Thomas Phillips (Tyler) of Thomaston, Brian Thomas of Ellaville, Dayton Medrano of Decatur, and Mariah Thomas Massey (Hunter) of Americus; great-nephew, Easton Blake Phillips of Thomaston; great-niece, Krystan Elizabeth "Lizzy” Massey of Americus; several uncles, aunts, & cousins, and many friends.
