Today we say goodbye to a kind hearted man, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He served his family, church and country faithfully, honorably, with pride, and love.
On October 21, 2024, at Phoebe Memorial Hospital, Terry peacefully took his last breath on this earth holding to his wife's hand of 60 years. He was surrounded by the love & comfort of his family and in his final moment he was received in the arms of our Lord.
Terry was born at Fort Benning Army Base in Georgia on April 20, 1942 to Lucius Clifton and Montine Alligood Tyler.
He was born into a military family and when he became of age he enlisted and served in the Army Security Agency.
In the Army he was rewarded with National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Expert Badge M-14, and many other acknowledgments and awards.
He served as a deacon at Preston Baptist Church in Preston Georgia.
He was proceeded in his passing by his parents, Lucius Clifton and Montine Tyler; Brother, Edward C. Tyler; Grandson, Christopher Bradley Taylor; Son in Law, J. Scott Stone; Brother-in-Law, Harlan Selle.
His living family members are: Wife, Joyce Smith Tyler; Daughter, Natalie Lynne Stone Hagan (Bryan); Daughter, Kimberly Tyler; Grandchildren: Mathew William Ramirez (Tonya), Megan Elisabeth Ramirez, Jocelynne Noelle Stone; Great Grandchild: Vanessa Willow Ramirez; Sister, Judy Tyler Selle; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, October 24, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Hess officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
