William David Mercer

Mr. William David Mercer, age 82, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Pruitt Health-Sylvester. A memorial service is planned for 10:00 AM on Monday, April 11, from the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, with Rev. Wendy Peacock officiating. The family will receive friends for a short time following services on Monday. Born June 16, 1939 in Americus, he was a son of the late Edgar Mercer and the late Essile Taylor Mercer. Mr. Mercer was a self employed contractor, working in maintenance. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Mercer; and by brothers and sisters: Edward, Lewis, Buddy, Clyde, Martha Ann, Betty Jean, and Virginia. Survivors include three sons: Tim Mercer, Clyde Mercer, and Eddie Mercer; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings: John, Ruby, and Pat; and several nieces and nephews.
